Good news for guests who pack bikes or walking boots: the Minister for Transport officially opened the first sections of the South Kerry Greenway this week, with visits to Glenbeigh and Tralee. It is another piece of Kerry's growing network of car-free routes for cyclists and walkers.
Closer to our homes, the Tralee to Fenit Greenway already makes a lovely easy day out: a flat, scenic ride from the county town to the sea at Fenit, and community groups are busy planting fruit trees for pollinators along the route.
If you are staying with us in Castlegregory, Cloghane or Camp, bring the bikes. Between the greenways, the Dingle Way and the quiet back roads of the peninsula, there is more traffic-free Kerry to explore every season.
